Wings fail to show up

Last night, the Red Wings barely showed a pulse in what must have been their worst game of the year, as they played an uninspired 6-0 loss to the New York Islanders in Uniondale, N.Y. the Wings and Isles both entered the game with a chance to gain a playoff spot, but it was the Isles who showed all the jump, as the Wings only managed a measly 16 shots on goal.

Calder Trophy candidate Jimmy Howard did not do himself any favors, as he got pulled after 3 goals, the last of which resulted from a horrible giveaway from Brad Stuart, that was SO bad that, IF he were not wearing an opposite uniform, I would have given him an assist. What was most disheartening, was that the Wings played very well on the west coast swing of the trip, only to lay an egg in Uniondale. Further, the fact that, while the Wings are ninth in the West, their record would make them fifth in the East, which shows they should be doing better when they play inferior teams.
