It's Happened Again-Denny McLain Arrested
It's happened again. Former Tiger star and Cy Young Award winner Denny McLain was arrested Thursday on a fugitive fraud warrant at the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron, and he is in the St. Clair County Jail pending extradition to Lousiana. Doesn't this guy EVER learn?

DETROIT TIGERS CLINCH DIVISION
The Detroit Tigers became the first team to clinch a divsion, as they won the American League Central by defeating the Oakland A's 3-1. The Tigers took the lead when Wilson Betemit tripled in the winning run, then added insurance on a Don Kelly home run. Doug Fister was brilliant as the winning pitcher, and Jose "Papa Grande" Valverde got his 45th save to finish the job. The Division title is the first for the Tigers since they won the American League East in 1987.

The Worst Offseason-EVER
This has been a horrible off-season for NHL players, coaches, owners, and fans, as, with today's tragic Lokomotiv air disaster in Russia, 46 professional hockey players and coaches have died this summer. We've lost way too many good people this summer. This off-season cannot end soon enough.
