Game 5: YANKEE GO HOME!
The ALDS is over, and the Tigers have won 3-2. Doug Fister started and worked the first five inning, then gave way to "Mad Max" Scherzer, Joaquin Benoit, and Jose "Papa Grande" Valverde, while the Yankees started Ivan Nova, who left early due to tightness in his forearm, then went Phil Hughes, C.C. Sabathia (in his first relief appearance ever), Rafael Soriano, David Robertson, and Mariano Rivera. The Tigers took the lead on back-to-back home runs in the first from Don Kelly, and Delmon Young, then a run in the fifth. The Yankees got runs from a Robinson Cano home run, and a Mark Texiera bases-loaded walk from Benoit, who then made Nick go Swish for a strikeout that ended the 8th. Then Papa Grande got Grandy, Cano, and A-Fraud to strikeout to end the game. The Tigers go to Texas for Game 1 Saturday Night at 8:30 ET.
