Going into Game 2, the Red Wings needed this game to give their NHL-best 31-7-2 home ice record a chance to work, and they got it. Todd Bertuzzi set the tone, when he made Shea Webber answer for his uncalled-for hit on Henrik Zetterberg at the end of Game 1. Ian White scored to put the Wings up 1-0, then rookie Cory Emmerton made it 2-0. After Nashville made it 2-1, Johann "The Mule" Franzen scored what would be the game-winner. That put the Wings up 3-1, and then they held on for a 3-2 victory. The series is now tied 1-1 with Game 3 at High Noon on Sunday at Joe Louis Arena.
Pens go from bad to worse-Pittsburgh and Philadelphia played game 2 of their series in the Steel City tonight. The Pens blew game 1 after leading 3-0, and taking the feet off the gas. That was not the case tonight, as the Flyers beat the Pens 8-5, in a game that had BOTH teams keeping their feet on the gas. The series now moves to Philly for games 3 and 4.
